On January 7th 1975 the world received a gift. Melissa was brought into this world. She was taken from us on January 4th 2022. She was way too young. She fought the fight for as long as she could. Her tired body finally is at rest and peace. Until we meet again my friend.
The first time I met Melissa was at Mt. Jordan Middle School in the 6th grade. We did not like each other at all. During her 7th grade year she attended school in southern California. She returned to Utah for 8th grade. That is when we became good friends. We were inseparable. I was invited to spend the summer after our 8th grade year in California where her grand parents lived. I became home sick and only stayed for a month.
Melissa was the maid of honor at my wedding to Cassie’s dad. We sadly went out separate ways for several years. Keeping in contact here and there through Facebook. Then I was invited to her wedding in Las Vegas. I was so excited to be able to be at this event. One of the things about real & true friends, it doesn’t matter how long you have been apart because it seems as though not a day has passed.
I am honored that during her last few months on this earth we got to text a lot.
Keep a spot next to you for when we meet again my dear friend. You are greatly missed by all who knew and loved you.
