Welcome to a new year. In 2024 I am going to work on looking forward instead of backwards. Over the last few years I have tried doing self reflection and looking at myself, my choices, my reactions, etc. to the past. I have learned that even though some of my choices and decisions were probably mistakes, they have all lead me to where I am today.
I heard it said once that there is a reason your car has a bigger windshield than rearview & sideview mirrors. Your focus should mainly be on what is in front of you. You should always glance back and to the side as well. But the main focus should be on what is ahead. Very wise words.
What does that look like? There are so many opportunities currently in front of me. I have been asked at my current place of employment to be on the activities team in my department. After my first meeting for 2024 my boss pulled me aside and asked if I wanted to be part of a company team that gets together and comes up with activities and things that can help improve employee satisfaction. What an honor. I was humbled by the request. Even if the only reason I was asked is because no one else wanted to, that is ok. Both opportunities will open so many other opportunities and doors to other things.
One of my dearest friends is also looking at starting a new opportunity that is something I have talked about wanting to do. I made sure he is aware that I want to be 100% completely involved in this and help him in any way I can.
We are only 12 days in to 2024 & it already looks like it is going to be a pretty good. year….how about you?
