Machelle & I left Utah on Friday the 16th at 9:30 AM & arrived in Cancun around 3:30 PM. The flight felt like it took forever. We made it through immigration and customs fairly quickly. It was a little bit of a struggle finding our ground transportation to the hotel. I was told and also read on our travel papers to look for someone wearing a blue shirt with the Delta logo on it. Well, that information was half correct. The Delta logo was on the clipboard they were carrying. The bus ride was 3 hours long, not because of the distance between the airport and the hotel, but because they dropped people off at 3 hotels before us.
We finally get to the hotel. It looks nothing like the one we thought we were booking. That is because somehow we booked the Lupita instead of the Tequilla. We have access to go over to that one whenever we want. We even talked about finding out how much to upgrade to that hotel.
The room is nice. We even have a mini bar with bottles of Gin Vodka, Rum, and, of course, Tequilla.
Our first night, we took a bus over to the RIU Tequilla hotel for a White Neon Party. We had our faces painted a little bit with Neon paint. I wore white shorts & a white tank top. They had a show of people singing and dancing, and one of them played a violin. We met a lady couple from the UK. They invited us to their wedding on the beach on Wednesday. We booked an excursion for Wednesday, so sadly, we won’t be able to make it.
